Our Associations

The Alcyon Center is an Associated Ministry and Mission of the Somesville (ME) Union Meeting House, UCC. This visionary local church has called us to develop new forms of ministry that nurture the human soul and spirit.

In early 2007, we were called by the Somesville Union Meeting House, United Church of Christ, as associate pastors in our capacities as co-directors of The Alcyon Center. The nature and form of our call and covenant came about through two years of conversation with pastor Victor Stanley and church leaders, conference ministers, committees on ministry, and other visionaries! We recognize that this ministry and covenant with a local church represents a new form and a new way of doing and being church. And yet we feel strongly that this creative view of the mission of the church is indeed the call of the church of the future. We are grateful for the Somesville church's willingness to leap, once again, into the unknown, as faithful servants.
